PEDB002 – The Pulse – Datastream

A typical data stream is made up of many small packets or pulses. Every single one of these pulses contain small amounts of information. When combined together, they make up the full piece of information sent.

This is where we stand: datastreams are everywhere, pulsing by us without our knowledge.  Ethereal or wired, datastreams are becoming the cornerstone of modern civilisation, like it or not.  The Pulse manages to combine technology and whatever organic is left in today’s electronic music.  The adage that music produced solely with machines can in no way be emotional has been crushed: we must embrace the future but never forget our past.

In our continued search for the best new artists, we are proud to introduce Tim Handels (a.k.a. Purejunk) as the main contributor to The Pulse.  Tim is no stranger to recorded music, having started his career professionally back in 1992 with Brussels-based Crammed Discs.  He today continues to record and release music under the Purejunk moniker within the electronic downtempo, chillout, ambient and soundtrack genre, producing a mix of sonic paintings ranging from pure beatless ambient beauty to icy rhythmic chillout tracks and even the occasional full-blown techno club anthem!
