PEDE006 – Piano Therapy 2 – Modern Contemporary

Philip Glass once described himself as a composer of “music with repetitive structures”.  Contemporary classical music has indeed clearly been influenced by modern day musical structure: the combination of “simple” rigid constructions with chamber music and ambient has created a genre which seamlessly fits the category known as art music.

It would be easy to pigeonhole this with the likes of Max Richter, Arvo Pärt, Michael Nyman or even Philip Glass but we prefer to let the music speak for itself.  Recorded at our very own Pedigree Cuts studios in London using our centerpiece Yamaha grand piano, this project has seen Elliot Ireland go through great lengths to produce an album full of emotion and depth.  The piano’s versatility and ubiquity will continue to fascinate us and has made this release something  we are very proud of.  We give you Piano Therapy 2.
