PED A006 Electrolysis

Who says machines have no emotions?

We have 16 cuts here that prove, once and for all, that there is an electronic soul. This album traverses the entire gammut of human experience – From the sublime, to the mournful, euphoric and sometimes downright disturbing. It is a work of synthetic discovery, pushing the limits of what can be achieved with analog and digital synthesis. It is also a work of careful fusion, seamlessly inter-weaving the human with the mechanical.

Take, as an example the first track “you see me” – a piece of music born from the sounds of nature, whose slowly evolving acoustic imagery is eventually uncomfortably integrated with waves of pulsating electronics. A metaphor perhaps of the 21st century experience – The equlibrium between the old, and the new – the present and the future? Or an insight into the psyche of a synth-nut whose had one too many disco-biscuits? We reckon its probably a bit of both – but either way – the music makes a compelling case!

Dont make any plans for the next 40 mins – this one sucks you in.

For this album, we had to call in the big guns… So new to the familia are Lenny Ibizarre, Charlie May & Duncan Forbes (aka Spooky)

You cant go to Ibiza without bumping into Lenny. The dude is Ibiza and his label, Ibizarre records, has become internationally renowned for its Ambient grooves and Balearic chill out. We’ve been mates with Lenny since the early 90s when we all shared a studio in Brighton that was exclusively heated by analog synths! It was time to give the dog a bone and unleash him on what he does best. You can hear Lenny on 4 sublime cuts of the album. Thanks man!

Charlie May & Duncan Forbes (aka Spooky) first met in the 90’s making records for William Orbit’s Guerrilla Records. After their critically acclaimed debut release ‘Gargantuan’ they’ve gone on to release 2 more LP’s. Charlie’s co-writing and production skills have been behind many of Sasha’s worldwide hits (Xpander/ Airdrawndagger/Scorchio)and he is currently taking time out from his solo touring to be in Sasha’s NY studio with Barry Jamieson working on new Sasha records as well as cuts for his solo record due to come out soon.  Check Charlie talking about ‘Night Light’, one of the tracks on ‘Electrolysis’.
